CAP Activities
We provide emergency assistance in several key areas to Moreno Valley residents:
Food and Clothing Assistance
We provide food and clothing to families in need six times in a twelve month period.
Utility Assistance
For the past two years, CAP has assisted needy families with the payment of their utility bills with the help from Southern California Edison, Southern Calfornia Gas Company, and the United Way. In the first three months of 2007, 64 families were assisted, totaling over $8,200 through Southern California Edison's Rate Relief program.
Bus Pass Program
We have recently joined the Transportation Access Program (TAP) which provides us with RTA bus tickets to assist those in need to get to doctor appointments, employment interviews, and school.
Christmas Assistance Project
Joining with the Moreno Valley Fire Department, MVUSD, and the community, we prepare and distribute packaged food and toys at CAP premises to those in need.
Referrals
CAP refers clients to other local agencies for housing and emergency shelter and other services as needed.
